IRONING: YES OR NO? WHY? WHY NOT? WHAT?

IRONING: YES OR NO? WHY? WHY NOT? WHAT?

I would like to write something about ironing. Why?

A few weeks ago I visited a friend. She was ironing a towel. Their boys are using it at school as a place mat. Why are you ironing it?, I asked. Because I feel sorry if I don’t…

This reply made me think…

Why iron something that will be dirty and crumpled after one use? Why spend (precious) time and energy on this? What does she have to feel sorry about? Would the other children notice and say something about this? Would someone notice that it was not ironed if she folded it with love? And the last question: what will happen in 20-30 years when my daughters will go to live with her sons, as my daughters have a mum that irons only shirts and dresses for special occasions because my time is precious and I consider ironing a waste of energy?

May I suggest something? Don’t iron towels, bibs or blankets for school. It is a waste of your time that could otherwise be spent with your children!
